Overnight train Afanasy Nikitin
An overnight train 037/038 - Afanasy Nikitin - started it's service in 19991 on the route Moscow - Vyborg. But starting from 1997 the route was reduced to Moscow - St.Petersburg because of the lack of passengers on the suburban route from St.Petersburg to Vyborg.
The train is named by the famous Russian merchant and of the first Europeans visited India.
Nowadays the train consists of the carriages of first class (with compartment for 2 persons), carriages of second class (with compartments for 4 persons), carriages of third class (platzkart, with open compartments for 4 persons and 2 side berths) and carriage-restaurant.
