Package tour: Petrozavodsk - Kizhi island - Valaam island (2 days / 1 night)
DAYSPROGRAMME OF THE TOUR - ITINERARY
DAY 1
  • Arrival to Petrozavodsk (by train from St.Petersburg at 06:50). Meeting with your guide. Transfer to the hotel "Severnaya". 
  • Breakfast
  • City tour in Petrozavodsk ("City of Peter the Great")
  • Departure to Kizhi island by hydrofoil boat (1 hour 15 min). 
    Kizhi is the heart of Onego Lake (the second largest lake in Europe)
    . The whole island is an open-air museum of wooden architecture and cultural history of the Russian North. The most ancient monument is the Church of the Resurrection of Saint Lazarus (XIV century)
  • Guided tour in Kizhi. Packet lunch 
  • Free time. Departure to Petrozavodsk (by hydrofoil boat).
  • Arrival to Petrozavodsk. Dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Free time.
 DAY 2
  • Breakfast (early in the morning).
  • Transfer to Sortavala (250 km).
  • Departure to the island Valaam on hydrofoil boat (50 min). 
    Valaam Archipelago was formed thousands years from two large and 50 smaller isles of Lake Ladoga, the largest lake in Europe. The heart of Valaam is its magnificent monastery complex founded in 992.
  • Guided tour on Valaam. During the tour you will visit the Central Monastery Complex and walk around the monk cells. 
  • Lunch (monastery's food in the refectory).
  • Visit to a concert of the Valaam choir.
  • Departure from Valaam to Sortavala (by hydrofoil boat).Dinner in Sortavala.
  • Transfer to Petrozavodsk.

  • Arrival to Kem (in the morning). Breakfast.
  • Transfer to the village Rabocheostrovsk (to the moorage).
  • Departure to the Solovki islands by boat "Metel" (2 hours 30 min).
    Solovetsky Archipelago is located in Onego bay of White sea and consists of 6 islands, connected by wide network of channels, created by monks many centuries ago. the first settlements are dated V century AC. You still can find there the remains of ancient stone labyrinths. Historically the islands have been the setting of the famous Russian Orthodox Solovetsky Monastery complex. It was founded in the second quarter of the 15th century and became an influential religious center in Russia. After the October Revolution, the islands attained notoriety as the site of the first Soviet prison camp (gulag). By the beginning of the World War II there was a naval cadet training camp for the Soviet Northern Fleet.
  • Arrival to Solovki. Transfer to hotel "Priyut". Dinner.
  • Guided tour around the territory of Solovetsky Monastery Complex.
  • Supper. Night in a hotel.
 DAY 4 
  • Breakfast.
  • Tour to the island Zayatsky.
  • Lunch in the hotel.
  • Transfer to the moorage. Departure to the village Rabocheostrovsk.
  • Arrival. Dinner. Transfer to train station in Kem.
  • Departure to St.Petersburg by train.
