| During this guided tour you will visit the State Tretyakov Gallery - one of the greatest art-galleries in the world. The Gallery’s collection comprises a vast range of Russian art - from the 12th century icons to avangard items of the beginning of the 20th century. The Gallery’s collection was started by Pavel Tretyakov, the owner of a successful textile company. After Tretyakov’s death the gallery’s collection grew rapidly, especially after the October Revolution when museum collections were supplemented by grabbed private collections, objects taken from cathedrals and monasteries, etc. This tour will give you a unique opportunity to admire masterpieces of Russian Art. |
