Combined tour: Hermitage Museum
& Boat Trip to Peterhof This combined tour offers you the excursion to one of
the most significant museums in the world - The State Hermitage Museum which
will be followed by the trip (by hydrofoil boat or by car/mini van in winter)
to one of the most beautiful surroundings of St. Petersburg – Peterhof. So, firstly you will be introduced to the main rooms
and expositions of the largest museum
of Russia and one of the
most significant museums in the world. Besides the magnificent interiors of Winter Palace
visitors can also enjoy one of the largest collection of paintings of foreign
and Russian artists. Moreover, you can explore the art of Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Classical Greece and etc. and examine
objects of Western European applied art, weapons, coins, medals, books
(Voltaire’s library) and a lot of other remarkable things. To understand better
the extent of this museum we can comment that it would take a visitor almost 15
years to appreciate all the treasures the museum houses. Then you will take a boat or car/mini van to Peterhof
- the former summer residence of Peter the Great where you will admire the
picturesque Lower Gardens (Park) with spectacular fountains, the Grand Palace
and numerous smaller Palaces and pavilions representing "Russian
Versailles" (such as Monplaisir Palace, Marly Palace, Hermitage Pavilion,
Catherine’s Block, etc.) There are two different ways of getting to Peterhof
from St. Petersburg.
The usual way is by car/mini van. But the most exciting way is definitely by
hydrofoil boat. However, this option is available only between 9th of May and
30th of September. After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport
to take your flight home.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to this gorgeous city but
we hope to see you again sometime in the future!
